It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Joseph Kimaru arap Baiywo, who departed from us on the evening of Monday, 22nd September 2025.
As we come to terms with this great loss, the family is faced with a huge medical bill of 12 million incurred during his treatment, alongside the burial expenses required to give him a dignified farewell.
We kindly appeal for your financial support and prayers during this difficult time. Any contribution, however small, will go a long way in easing the family’s burden and ensuring that our beloved Joseph is laid to rest with dignity.
Our dear friend, brother, father, husband and neighbor Joseph Kimaru is fighting for his life.
We come to you with a heavy heart and with deep humility on behalf of Joseph Kimaru arap Baiywo’s
family.
To know Joseph Kimaru is to love him. He’s the rock of his family – a devoted dad whose laughter fills a
room, a loving husband whose strength is unwavering, and a cherished friend always ready with a
helping hand. He’s the kind of person who builds up his community, quietly making everything and
everyone around him better. Right now, that strength is being tested in ways we never imagined.
On May 28th 2025, life changed in an instant. Joseph suffered a catastrophic brain hemorrhage – a sudden,
violent medical storm that struck without warning. He was rushed into emergency neurosurgery (a
craniotomy), doctors fought desperately to save his life while his family faced every spouse’s, and child’s
worst nightmare. The shock and despair they felt that day are still overwhelming.
Joseph remains in the ICU since then, fighting with everything he has. He’s critically ill, dependent on a
ventilator to breathe, and requires intensive, round-the-clock medical care. His battle is further
complicated by severe pneumonia, demanding aggressive treatments and constant, vigilant monitoring.
Every day is a fragile hope, a prayer whispered for stability.
While our hearts are focused solely on Joseph’s survival and recovery, the reality of the financial
burden is crushing. The cost of this lifesaving ICU care, the complex surgeries, and the ongoing intensive
treatments has already soared far beyond what his family could ever prepare for. And this is only the
beginning.
The road ahead is long and steep. Once Joseph is stable enough to leave the hospital (a milestone we pray
for daily), he will face months, possibly longer, of continued critical care at home. He will need
specialized nursing, intensive rehabilitation to reclaim his life, and essential medical equipment. This
isn’t just recovery it’s a marathon towards healing.
We are reaching out, with humble hearts and hopeful spirits, to our wider family, our brothers and
sisters in humanity – to ask for your urgent support. We believe in the power of community, in the
incredible strength found when people come together for one of their own.
Your generous donation, no matter the size, will be a lifeline for Joseph and his family:
Offset Mounting Hospital Bills: Help ease the crushing weight of ICU stays, surgeries,
medications, and specialized care that have already accumulated.
Fund Essential Post-Hospital Care: Provide for the critical home nursing, specialized medical
equipment (like hospital beds, ventilators, mobility aids), and therapies Joseph will desperately
need.
Support Long-Term Rehabilitation: Ensure Joseph has access to the sustained physical,
occupational, and speech therapy crucial for him to regain his strength, mobility, and
independence.
Joseph has spent his life being a pillar for others. Now, it’s our turn to be the pillars for him and his
family. We cannot do this alone.
Please, donate today and share Joseph’s story far and wide. Share this with your friends, family,
coworkers, and community networks. Let’s surround Joseph and his loved ones with the same unwavering
support and love he has always shown.
Every single contribution brings tangible hope. It means one less worry for his family as they keep vigil
by his bedside. It means crucial resources for his fight today and his long journey home tomorrow. It’s a message to Joseph We are here. We see you. We believe in you. Keep fighting
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your compassion, your generosity, and for holding
Joseph and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this unimaginably difficult time.
With immense gratitude,
Mrs. Jane Karuri Kimaru and Family
